Allie wanted to spend some time with Charlotte today. She laid down right next to her so she could talk with her. I love watching moments like these unfold between the girls. They both were enjoying each others company. Yes Charlotte was cooing and ahhing through most of this interaction. Allie was just giddy with excitement that Charlotte looked at her.

Beautiful Weather
Our weather lately has been absolutely gorgeous! A cold front rolled in and we were able to benefit from it. We've had high 70s and low 80s all week! As a result we have been able to go outside and play in our backyard! The girls were so excited when i asked them if they would like to play outdoors. With great enthusiasm they got some grubby clothes on while I found our camping chair.
Since I was in a good mood and didn't really care if they made a mess, I let them take the bubbles outside to blow. I was right that they would make a mess with them, but the laughter and smiles from blowing the bubbles quickly outweighed the mess.
The girls also found joy in running around playing with some of the bouncy balls we have.
Oh and don't forget playing in the dirt! I let them play in my small planters with their beach shovels. I figured they couldn't do any harm to them since the flowers were already dead! When Lily got a bit bored she borrowed the camera and started snapping pictures. She even caught a picture of what I was doing the whole time...
Right before going in for dinner the girls thought it was hilarious to run and fall down on the grass. They come up with such silly games!

Mores
A lot of the time when Allie wants to do something she will go point at it, and say, "Mores!" Tonight while Russ was mowing the lawn, I let the girls out to play. I typically sit in the garage trying to find a little relief from the heat while the girls take various bikes, balls, bats, scooters, etc out to play with.
The first thing Allie went for when we got outside was our little red wagon. Inwardly I groaned because I knew I couldn't get up and pull her around. I looked over at Allie's cute pudgy face as she pulled on my hand, pointed at the wagon and said,"More's!"
I was about ready to give her the "momma doesn't feel well" speech when Lily came up and said sweetly,"You want to go in the wagon?! Lily'll take you! Get in!"
Happy as can be those two took off up and down the road for a good 15 minutes. I was never more grateful for Allie's big sister than at that moment.

I wish I had my camera...
Today I heard the girls giggling in the backseat as I stopped at a stoplight. I turned to see what was going on. Lily was showing Allie something out the window and they were laughing. But the real kicker? They were holding hands. It was one of the sweetest moments I've seen with these two. I only wish I'd had my camera to capture it for forever.

Responsible Big Sister
More times than not Allie wakes up a little cranky. She likes to snuggle up next to you until she is fully awake. If try and put her down soon after waking up she makes a HUGE fuss. I can't remember why, but I HAD to put Allie down this day. Inspiration struck me and I plopped her on Lily's lap, who was watching a movie. I told Lily to hold her tight, and not let her move. Allie snuggled right up to Lily, and watched the movie with her! When I came back (I was gone like 30 secs!) Lily said, "Mom I hold her real tight, and she didn't move!" I think I have a baby-sitter in training!
