February and March Roundup

I said back in January that I was going to do this every month and I meant it.  Then we moved....All things go out the window when you move.  I decided that I'm still going to roundup the month, BUT I'm going to do both February and March at the same time. Enjoy the novel that follows ;)

1.  What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
            February:
The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
            March:
Food Rules: An Eaters Manual by Michael Pollan
The Digital Photography Book: Vol 2 by Scott Kelby
The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman
The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

2.  What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
      February:
LOST started this month, and as usual I'm glued to the TV screen when it is on.  I have to watch this
alone because Russ lost interest when the smoke monster wasn't a dinosaur.
      March:
Dancing with the Stars came back on. I must admit that I've been bored with the last few seasons and
stopped watching.  I decided to wattch this year because Kate from Jon + Kate plus 8 was on the
show.  I should have just stayed away.  The show still doesn't hold me interest even though I watch it
          every Monday night.

3.  What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
Nothing fabulous happened with the family.  We've been to busy to have fun.   But I have thoroughly
enjoyed spending time walking with a couple of ladies in my ward.  Also playgroup is such a nice break
from the mundane of our schedule.

4.  What gifts did I give and/or receive?
I'm lame-o and didn't get my St. Patricks day gifts done on time.  Actually, I didn't even get Allie's done
because I couldn't find it admist our boxes.  The funny thing is at the time I was sure I had put it
somewhere safe so that I would be able to whip it out and have it ready.  Lily's was two days late getting
done, and Russ didn't get his until he got back a week later from California.  It's the thought that counts
     right?!

5.  What special or unusual purchases did I make?
     February:
I bought a Satsuma at the local Master Gardner's Citrus Sale.  I was nervous and excited all at the
same time to be purchasing the first plant for my yard.  Since buying the tree it has been planted in my
yard, and is starting to blossom.  I'm so excited to be getting tangerines in a few years from it!

Our house of course!  I still can't believe sometimes that we have a house.  Being in a house before 32
was important to me.  We were lucky enough to make that five years early.  Unpacking is going slow.
For some reason I don't feel rushed to get settled.  But as it comes together I plan to show more and
         more of it.

     March:
         Lawnmower

6.  What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
     February:
          None
     March:
The flu.  Holy cow was it whopper of a flu.  Glad it is over and I'm FINALLY feeling 100%.

7.  What were my accomplishments this month?
     February:
I didn't go crazy.  Russ was gone 3 of the 4 weeks in February.  The week he was here we signed on
the house.  I was tied in knots from stress.  I only survived the month with blessings showered upon me
by Russ, my family, friends, and my Heavenly Father.  Each of them in their own way were there for
          me when I needed someone.
     March:
I was asked to stay on as a semi-permanent CTM for digiscrapbook designer.

8.  What were my disappointments this month?
For both February and March I was disappointed in the fact that I had wroked so hard to find some
composure in my life and it was gone so quickly.  So many little stresses got the better of me these past
two months I wound up back as a muddled, confused mess.  But I didn't give up {which I normally do}.

9.  How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
Well I didn't give up on them, but they didn't work out as neatly as I would have liked them too.  All my
patterns and routines I had started in January and February went out the window.  In March I tried to start
over, but it didn't work.  The bright side of the whole ordeal is that I knew from the beginning this would be
a process.  I knew that I might slide back, and I prepared myself for that. I didn't lose hope.

10.  Anything else noteworthy to include?
I have been doing a lot of scrapping lately.  When I'm upset I tend to turn to scrapping to ease my stress.
I currently have set a goal to create 100 layouts before Dec 31.  I'm well on my way.  These are the
layouts I created.  If you would like to see credits for them, or see them larger you can go HERE

    Round Up

I follow a ladies blog that does a lot of scrapbooking.  One thing she does each month that I find particularly intriguing is what she calls a Round Up.  Basically it is a few things she does at the end of each month to tie up loose ends.  She begins by answering a few questions, and then does some computer archiving.  I thought I would give it ago this month.

    1.  What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
    • Undaunted by Gerald Lund
    • PARENTS
    • American Baby
    • Country Woman
    • Southern Living
    • Friend
    • Scrapbook Etc.
    • Scrapbook Trends

    2.  What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
    • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
    • Avatar
    • Transformers II
    • Star Trek 2009
    • Frog Princess
    • Biggest Loser
    • Glee
    • Desperate Housewives {Don't judge me too harshly please!}
    • Food Network
    • HGTV

    3.  What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
    • Mommy daughter date with Lily
    • FHE activities with the family
    4.  What gifts did I give and/or receive?
    • Calendar for my brother

    5.  What special or unusual purchases did I make?
I bought for calendars this month.  I kept none of these calendars.  All them went to family
members.  I hope everyone enjoyed them.

    6.  What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
    • Sinus infection
    • Ear infection
    • Cold
    7.  What were my accomplishments this month?
    • Having FHE 3 out of the 4 weeks in January.  A new record for us!
    • Began journaling again
    8.  What were my disappointments this month?
    • Finding composure in my life, then having it dashed when I got sick.  Still seeking to get the composure back.
    • Getting house, losing a house, getting a house, losing a house....
    9.  How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
    • I accomplished a few of my goals.  My planner is back in use, and I make to-do lists most nights before going to bed. FHE has become a ritual in our lives. I didn't do so well on my scrapbooking goal.  I should have done, eight layouts but I only did 2.  My house is still where it started out at the beginning of the month, disorganized.

    10.  Anything else noteworthy to include?
    • I've really enjoyed having Russ home most of this month.  It has been awhile since we've been together as a family.  I look forward to his travelling going down in April. {Cross fingers that this holds to be true}

    How did your month go?
