Sewing Update

Well, all you get is a verbal description of my projects this week, since my camera cord is busted!

  1. Baby #2 crosstitch is going well. I finished all the border. Now I get to start on the letters this week!
  2. My Valentine's wall hanging is going fantastic! I am about 3/4 of the way done with the inside square. That is my most intricate square. I am trying to finish it up this week. For some reason I am making much faster progress on it and the hearts are looking much better than when I started it! Yeah!
  3. Baby #2 quilt is slow going. I decided I needed to read all the way through the pattern to make sure I understood it. Boy am I glad I did that! I would have made MANY cutting mistakes if I hadn't. I also decided to draw up my own "pattern" of the quilt so I could see what it would look like. Which led me to realize that my block fabric wouldn't work in the quilt. So now I am going to have to make my own blocks, out of the blocks I bought. More work in the long run, but at least I don't have to by more material!

Sorry this doesn't make much sense verbally. Hopefully, next week I will be able to post some pics, so it will make sense!

Family Update 3/31/08

Well, this should be short since I wrote recently. But as I said before I like to get these things done on Monday. So here goes!

Lily and Russ have been sick all weekend. Lily's cold started on Wednesday, and still hasn't let up much. She has sounded like a frog, but today she has a little less of that. Poor Russ! He probably has that flu that is going around, where you don't throw up, but have flu symptoms. On Sat and Sun he spent most of the day wrapped up in a blanket shivering. He wasn't feeling all that much better today, but he went to work and school anyway. He can't really miss his Monday lab. Somehow, with me being around these two I've managed to stay away from getting sick. It is amazing how when I am pregnant, I rarely get sick. It is nice!

Our only other news is that I won't be sending any pics to you all for awhile. For some reason our camera cord has stopped working. At least we think that is the problem. We are going to test the theory out next week when my parents come to visit. They are bringing my brother-in-law's camera cord with them. (He has the same camera) Hopefully this is the problem, because our camera's warranty just expired a few days ago. Isn't that what always happens? So as I said, no pics for at least a week

A Growth Spurt!

Apparently, I have had a growth spurt! My belly is supposed to measure 28 cm right now. Mine measured at 32 yesterday! Oops! Here are some pics to see how much I grew in a week. It doesn't look like much to me but to the doc it does.

The green shirt is when I was 24 weeks. The orange/pink shirt is yesterday when I was 28 weeks. Looking at these side by side I realize I guess I did grow out a bit!

Family Update 3/28/08

Holy cow! This month has flown by! I guess that is a good thing. Sorry I am a little late on getting this e-mail out. I try to get it done on Monday's but well we have had an eventful week. Can't say whether it was good or bad, just eventful. Here is the low down.

Friday we went down to my parents house for Easter weekend. Of course we didn't get there until about 10:00 at night, so not much went on that night. The next day was packed! We got up and took Lily to the Heber City Easter egg hunt. It was indoors at a horse stadium because we still have snow in our little mountain valley! Lily really enjoyed it, she was dancing around laughing the whole time. Her cousin Tyler watched out for her and got her some "big" prizes that she wasn't able to grab. She got a free cookie slip and he gave her some jelly bracelets.

Right after this my sis took Lily to her home while Russ and I headed to Provo to do some quick "baby shopping". We didn't really buy much, we were just looking at some items to make sure we really wanted to buy them in the future. I did get some fabric to make the baby a blanket out of. I am excited about that! Russ isn't the most thrilled about it, he thinks I am going to cry over it and get upset when I don't finish it in time. I can't believe he doesn't have more faith in me!

We zoomed home from shopping where we put together the family Easter egg hunt. When my dad got home from work a few hours later the fun began! Lily and Tyler had found all the eggs before me or my sis could really get hardly any decent pics of them. Of course I don't think I or Russ tried all that hard to get Lily to slow down. Lily of course made out like a bandit even though we had significantly cut back on how much she got last year.

Easter Sunday was a whirl of events as well. Lily got up and was very excited about the Easter Bunny visiting. We went to church, and Russ and I enjoyed NOT going to the nursery. We hurried and packed the car and went over to my sister's house for a GREAT BIG Easter lunch. We left and stopped in on Tawni and Rob's for awhile. We got home around 9:30, unpacked the car and went straight to bed. We were all exhausted from running around so much.

Monday morning Russ woke me up and told me the "wonderful" news that someone had tried to break into our house while we were gone. He took me to the kitchen where he showed me our laundry room door. The molding around the lock on it was torn away and bowed. Our conclusion was that some one from our neighbors had yanked pretty hard on our door trying to get into our side. Luckily, our little pathetic latch held and discouraged them from getting in. We notified our owners who said they would be over later. Russ didn't go into work because he needed to show the owners the problem. The owners showed up with the police. The police took down some info, but left it up to our owners to take care of. I guess because the people actually didn't make it in. The neighbors weren't home at the time, so the owners said they would get back to us on what happened. We haven't heard anything yet. The owners also are going to put a little bit better lock on our door. That's nice of them!

Yesterday, we went into a routine check-up for the baby. Apparently, the baby is measuring 4 weeks bigger than it should! The doc was a little concerned in my growth and ordered me to get the glucose drink test done. Yum! I go back in two weeks for that. The doc tried to convince me to just skip that test and go straight to the 3 hour blood test. I declined, just because our insurance is stupid and I know that I have to start at the beginning test and work my way up. So overall, I probably have gestational diabetes and I will probably have another huge baby again.

Sorry this was so long, but I wanted you to all know our life hasn't been as boring as usual. Oh by the way, Russ is doing fine, just working as usual!

Easter

Easter was great fun this year! We went down to Utah for Easter. Lily went on two easter egg hunts. She has enough candy to last her until next easter! Not much more to share except some cute pics! Hope you enjoy them!
Lily at the city easter egg hunt.
Lily and cousin Tyler getting ready for easter egg hunt.
Lily with her loot. What cute face she is pulling!

A break in?

Yesterday was a crazy day! It began with Russ waking me up and telling me he had bad news. The bad news was that someone had tried to break in to our house while we were in Utah this weekend. I got up and Russ showed me the "damage". Let me explain something first. In our kitchen there is a door that leads to a narrow laundry room that we share with our neighbor. She also has a door that leads into the laundry room. Those are the only two doors in and out of that area.

Russ took me to our laundry room door. The molding around our lock had been broken and bowed. Somehow are teeny tiny pathetic lock had held. The conclusion we came to was that someone from our neighbors side had tried to yank our door open. Thank goodness the lock had held! We did a quick check through of the house to double check that they really hadn't made it in. Nothing is gone. Whew!

We felt that we needed to call our owners on this. They were quite concerned and also came to the conclusion that our neighbors had been the ones trying to enter/break in our house. They said they would be over to look at it. Well, that meant Russ couldn't go into work because he was the one who found it and needed to show it to them. Around one the owners showed up, and to our surprise the cops as well! Apparently the owners felt like they may need to press some charges against the neighbors! :0 We talked to the cops and the owners, and showed them the damages. The cops left quickly because nothing had been stolen, and the people hadn't made it in. They felt the owners could take care of this.

The owners tried to get ahold of the neighbors but haven't yet. They are going to fix our molding and give us a much better lock. I can't wait to hear what the neighbors thought they were doing trying to get into our house. Hopefully, we find out soon. Our neighbors have kinda seemed to have not been home as much as they usually the are. I wonder how "coincidental" that is?
These pics don't do justice as to how far the board was pulled out. I took these after Russ had already pushed it back in!

Sewing Update

I forgot to put this on last week, and this week I am a day late! OOPS!

  1. Here is my 2nd daughters "I am a Child of God" crosstitch. Holy Cow, it took forever to count and get this all lined up! But I have managed to get the border mostly done! Next I start on the blocks! Great fun!

  2. Well, I am not going to post a pic yet again of my wall hanging. I just keep putting it off, and well it doesn't get done. But I am determined to do something on it this week! You guys need to hold me accountable! (I am just joking, please don't, I am begging you!)

  3. I got my material in Utah this past weekend for my baby quilt. I am really excited about this. Russ made me promise though that I won't cry over it, and if I don't get it done in time to not be upset. I think I can keep that promise :)

Celebrating the Family Enrichment

Yesterday was so busy! By the end of the day I felt completely wiped out. At church I am on the enrichment board, and yesterday was our "Celebrating the Family" enrichment. I went to the church around ten and helped set up the chairs. I didn't think this would be a big deal, but I guess after dragging 30 chairs across the room my pregnant body didn't like it. By the time I walked home at 11:30 I felt like it was time to go to bed already.

That night, I went to enrichment at 6:00 to help set up some last minute things. When it actually started I was quite impressed with the amount of people that showed up. We had between 30 - 40 people, which is actually a large group for our ward! Two ladies in the ward gave great lessons on preparing FHE lessons. Then we started the activity. The ladies could either make a FHE board, or make FHE folder lessons. Most ladies chose to do both. Of course they didn't have time to do both. I had the easiest job, which was handing out the lesson packets to people. I was grateful that I got to sit and just talk to other ladies as I handed out the lessons. Everything turned out great, and we didn't have any problems. I would show some pics of it, but well I wouldn't want anyone that didn't know I was taking pics of them be made at me for putting them on the net.

We didn't finish cleaning up until 9:30. I dragged a bunch of those chairs back across the gym again, so I was ready to just go home and sleep. Well, things to quite work that way. I had Russ come pick me up from the church while he left Lily asleep, but locked in our house. Our neighborhood is a little scary, so I don't like walking home in the dark by myself, that's why Russ picked me up. Anyway, when Russ got there he asked if I had my house keys. I told him no and asked why. He said he didn't have his either and he had locked the doors. For some reason I didn't panic. As we walked we came to the conclusion that our back door might not be locked. So I sat on the front porch while Russ walked around the house. Poor guy! We still have about two feet of snow in most places of our yard. Well, the good news was the back door was unlocked and we didn't have to break into our own house! Yeah! Needless to say, I still didn't get to bed until after 11:00 though. OOPS!

One mad momma!

Last night Russ, Lily and I went to the church to copy off all the enrichmetn papers I needed for Thursday. Not big deal. We were a little tired after coaxing the copy machine to stop jamming every other paper and just print, but we dealt with it. We didn't start home until 8:30, a short 5 minute walk, so no problem there. When we got home Russ was in charge of putting Lily to bed. He started to do that immediately since it was already past her bedtime. I walked into the kitchen to get a drink of water when I hear Russ yell, "I no! Jewelle help!"

Thinking Russ needed with a "blowout" I walked in the family room and saw the problem. Lily had dog poop ALL over her show. I was livid! Not at her, but at some unknown neighbor. There is this guy who walks his dogs around the neighborhood every day. I don't know if he doesn't like us (Even though we have never met him) but he lets his dogs poop on our yard ATLEAST once a week. Not that big of a deal when there is snow to cover it up, but in the summer and spring? This is the third time someone has accidently stepped in it and tracked it in the house.

Back to the story. Russ gave me her shoe to go clean off, while he finished with Lily. Luckily we had a plastic spoon that I could use to scrape off most of it. I tried using an old toothbrush to get the rest off. Most came off, but I couldn't get a bunch of it out of the treads of her shoe! Now her shoe reaks of poop! But that isn't the worst part.

Apparently, before we discovered that Lily had poop on her shoe, Russ had sent Lily into the bathroom to get her pajamas. As I walked into the bathroom to rinse her shoe off, I found poop on my bathroom rug, recently mopped floor, and Lily's potty. In my mind there were quite a few choice words running through it. I will not mention what they are but I am sure you can imagine. The worst part about the bathroom scene is that I can't wash my rug till Saturday! We don't have a washer/dryer and we are going to my parents this weekend where we will do our laundry.

I have calmed a little over this situation since last night, but I still don't understand why this neighbor guy lets his dogs do this. It is SOOOOOOOOO rude! If it was a one time thing I wouldn't mind, but happens a lot! I can still smell poop in our apartment, so I guess I am going to get down on my hands and knees and see if I can sniff it out! We have brown carpet, so it is hard to find unless you can sniff out the area. I am seriously one mad mamma today!

Chores, Chores, and More Chores!

Okay, here is how I did. I cleaned and vacuumed the family room before my visiting teacher's came. Not that you could tell now! I uploaded all my pics to Clarks. Holy cow! That took FOREVER! So I didn't get to order them. But I must add I also managed to take two hours to copy off my enrichment stuff. That in itself was a chore! Thanks for helping me hubby! Today's chores:

  1. Start mom's present
  2. Finish organizing pictures
  3. Order them pics from Clarks.
  4. Cut out and prepare nursery lesson for Sub.
  5. Organize enrichment papers.
  6. Start packing for Utah.

Lots of little things that hopefully all will get accomplished!

Boring Chores!

Reporting to duty! Hehe, I made a funny. I am in a weird mood today! So chores for yesterday went well. I swept and "spot" mopped the bathroom and kitchen. I only "spot" mopped so Russ couldn't get mad at me for moving heavy things. :) I didn't finish rearranging my pics, because yet again, I found more stashed in an odd place. But I only have one book left so it WILL get finished today. Here's my list for today:

  1. Start mom's present
  2. Finish pictures
  3. Clean and vaccuum family room before VT's come
  4. Upload pics to Clarks and order them.

Chores.....again!

Well, last Friday I managed to organize my sewing basket. I got most of my pictures rearranged, but then I found more which messed everything up! I think I will be able to finish them today! Yeah!

So my list is much the same even though I did do a lot on Friday!
  1. Sweep and mop bathroom
  2. Sweep and mop kitchen
  3. Finish rearranging pictures
  4. Start mom's present

Family Update 3/17/08

Another week has crept by. Unfortunately up here, the week returned us back to winter. It has snowed three days in a row. We haven't really accumulated any snow, but it still makes for cold and gloomy days. It is also no fun because Lily and I were just beginning to think we could go outside and play, but well that idea has been wiped clean from our minds.

Nothing to new with any of us, but I do have a cute story about Lily. Last night Russ was on the phone and I was at the computer. Lily decided to play with her shopping cart and kitchen. She set up two of her blankets on the floor, and lined the food around the edges of. Each food was on a plate or in a bowl. She then brought Russ and I what she called "Dinner". I am sure if we would have let her continue to play (It was bedtime) she probably would have dragged all her dolls/animals over to the blankets for a picnic. Russ and I really get a kick out of some her imaginative ways.

Russ and I haven't done anything exciting other than go "Easter" shopping on Saturday. Russ enjoyed picking out a kite for Lily's Easter basket. I am sure he was thinking how fun it was going to be for him to fly it while Lily sits and watches it in the sky. We also got her some other fun little "spring" toys and dress with matching sandals. After this weekend I'll post pics of them on our blog so you can all see.

I've been tagged!

I was tagged by Deanna, so here we go!

The Rules
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

Nearest book: My hymnal. (I was not about to get up and find a real book!)
Page 123 5th sentence reads: Lord, grant me thy a biding love and make my turmoil cease.
I tag: Stevie, Leslie, Amber, and Carolyn (only four because I don't think anyone else will do it!)

Apologies for a boring life

I know most of you as you read this blog think in your mind "Why is she writing about that?" I realize most of my blogs are boring everyday facts in my life, but that is how my life is. But I still want to record it because I know someday soon (Probably when I have the baby), my life won't be quite so boring, or so uneventful. I want to remember what it feels like to have time to do things I want, so I can appreciate this time later on. So I apologize for most of my boring blogs, and give you this advice: Skip the boring parts if you want! I won't be offended I promise!

Back to chores!

Well, yesterday I did a good job of getting "something" done. I am actually proud of myself for what i got done. I managed to clean the kitchen counters, but not the way I wanted to. I wanted to bleach the grout, but I realized if I couldn't stand the smell of Windex without getting light-headed, I definitely couldn't handle bleach. So their clean and maybe tomorrow Russ can help bleach them. I cleaned out a bunch of old papers I have been meaning to go through for awhile. It took me two hours! I couldn't believe it had gotten that bad. I then rearranged some of my photos for about the billionth time. I think I finally have them rearranged the way I want them though. Now I just need to print of all my digital pics. That will take forever and cost a ton! I haven't printed any of them off since last MARCH! Oops! I plan to take the slow and steady pace.....hopefully, that will work. I also managed to clean the living room before Russ got home. That one of my new goals. Try and have living room clean for Russ when he gets home. Of course that doesn't mean it has to stay clean the rest of the night! :) For me that was a productive day.

I am back to trying to make a list for myself, now that I feel like I have gotten some sleep. So here we go for today:
  1. Sweep and mop bathroom
  2. Sweep and mop kitchen (Probably won't happen because Russ got mad at me for moving around some heavy stuff in the kitchen so I could mop last time. He told me not to do it again. Now the question is do I listen or not?)
  3. Finish rearranging pictures.
  4. Start mom's mother's day present
  5. Organize my sewing basket.

Yucky Idaho!

I remember why I hate Idaho winters. When I got up this morning I couldn't figure out why it was so dark in the house. Since daylight savings it has been light out in the morning when I get up. I didn't think anything of it until I went to get some water out of the sink. I glanced out the window and about had a heart attack. It was snowing! Just last night Russ and I had talked about how nice it was that it hadn't snowed in awhile and we were actually experiencing a little bit of spring in Idaho. Idaho never has a spring. It has winter and then goes straight to summer. Apparently, we had spoke to soon! We are now back to winter, and summer(May) seems way to far off. To think, I was going to try and go for a walk with Lily today. :(

I finally did it!

I finally finished Russ's Valentine's present. It is supposed to be from Lily, but I feel it is from both us since I did most of the work on it. If you can't tell from the photos, it is a paperbag scrapbook. Russ is supposed to take it to work and put it in his cubicle. That way when he is "a little stressed" Lily can cheer him up! I hope you like the pics! Oh and look how excited Lily is about it!

I just cheered myself up!!!

I just looked at my baby ticker and noticed that I only have 99 days left till this baby should be coming! I am in the double digits now! YEAH! Okay, I probably won't have the baby that day, but it sure is nice to know that there is an end looming in sight!

Not much change!

I don't feel like anything has changed from yesterday. I almost feel like I am in that movie "groundhogs days". You know, where the day just keeps repeating itself, just with slightly different events. I feel that way. I feel like I could just go back to bed and sleep. Lily seems a little bit calmer today though. She had lots of energy yesterday.

I feel good about what I got done yesterday. I felt bad that I hadn't done anything creative or artsy with Lily for about a week, so I helped her make a rainstick. Basically, she colored the toilet paper tube, and helped put the beans in it while I did the rest. She liked it though. She really liked showing it to daddy when he got home. I then made my tile that I've had since November enrichment. I've just kept putting it off because I didn't have a stand for it, but since I had bought one on Saturday I decided it was time to finish it. I also managed to help Lily make some good progress on potty training. I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel concerning this. YEAH! Last but not least I got the living room all cleaned up BEFORE Russ got home. I am not really sure how all this happened. I think most of it took place while I was sleepwalking.

Once again I have no chore list. I am just going to try and get something done. If I don't I am not even going to care!

Soooooooo tired!

This time thing change is killing me! I have never had a problem with it before. I never felt like it changed anything. Then this year hits and I feel like I am going to be tired the rest of my life. I don't know if it hit me worse this year because I wasn't sleeping well before or what. Right now I just want to crawl into bed and sleep the whole day. Then I think I will be functionalable. But alas I have a 2 1/2 year old who won't let that happen. My goal for the day is to try and get atleast SOMETHING productive done. I don't care what it is. Just something. We'll see if it happens or if I crash on the couch for most of the day.

Who is Pots?

I realized as I added a profile to my blog that many of you probably have no idea who Pots is. Pots is actually a nick name for my husband. Let me explain where the "odd" name came from. Those of you actually know the story, I apologize if I get something wrong. I am only telling you what Russ told me.

When Russ first moved to BYU-Idaho he moved into Crestwood 10. I believe his roommate Pat asked him what his name was, and Russ replied with "Russell". Pat proceeded to ask Russ if it was okay to call him Pots. Russ agreed but asked why. Pat explained that the previous semester there had been a kid named Jaron who lived in Crestwood 10. When he signed the cleancheck sheet, he would always sign the name "Rusty Pots". Apparently Jaron had met some politician named Rusty Pots and thought it would be hilarious to use that name on the sheet. Well, when Pat met a guy named"Russell" he thought it would be fun to call him Pots after the "Rusty Pots" alias. (Do you guys get it? Hope so!)

Well, Pats nicknamed stuck. I met Russ later that day, and already he was being introduced as Pots. At some point in time I did learn his real name, but no one called him that at college. When I started dating "Pots" I told my mom his name. She laughed and said"Does he have a brother named Pans?" Now if my mom is ever referring to Russ's younger brother Wesley, she calls him Pans. Sorry Wesley!

Around the time Russ and I got engaged he suggested that I start calling him by his real name around his family. So when I met them I did, but he was still Pots to me. When we got married, I spent quite a few weeks confusing myself and calling him Russ and Pots. Finally, I decided I would call him Russ except around those people who knew him as Pots. I must say that it was a sad day for me, but now it is pretty natural. I still miss my Pots though. I almost have convinced Russ to let use the name "Pots" for the middle name of boy(If we ever have one!). For those of you who still now Russ as Pots please feel free to call him that, it brings back good memories, and Russ really doesn't mind.

So there is the very long and complicated story have how I fell in love with a guy named Pots and married a guy named Russell.

Family Update

I really liked Leslie's idea to not only e-mail her family update, but to put it on her blog as well. So if you check our blog remember that the family update has been sent to you and you don't have to read it twice! I skipped writing last week because I figured that since I sent an e-mail about our baby, that was good enough!

Russ is staying completely busy. In fact today is what I call "Loooooooong Monday". Depending on how fast Russ's class works at completing a lab, he can get home anywhere between 6 and 8. Most times it is closer to eight. The day seems to go on forever when he doesn't get home until that late. Russ is making some progress on his thesis which is good , but he wishes his progress was a little better.

This week has been better for Lily. For some unknown reason her tantrum's have lessened. It was like she knew we were getting advice from family on how to handle, so she made up her mind stop. Who knows? It is nice that she is now down to 2-3 timeouts/tantrums compared to 10-20 a day. She has really started to doing some funny antics that I am sure are typical of most girls her age, but it is still fun to watch her at. For example, she has found where we keep her blankets for her bed so most days she will drag all of them out of her room. Then she makes a "bed" out of them, and lines up her dolls on them. She then reads them a book, kisses them goodnight, and gives them a hug. The process is repeated many times a day in different rooms of the house. Very cute and funny, but such a pain to clean up at night!

Nothing really happened to me last week. Stay at home mom lives are pretty boring and typical from one person to another. I am sure all that will change though when the baby comes. My routine will be broken and won't know what to do with myself.

Have a great week!
The Idaho Jones Family

PS Leslie, at some point in time I promise we will tell you when we are available in August but for now I have to wait until Russ decides to look at his calendar. I think it might be the end of August though. We also thought Zion's was a good idea, because it was half way between Utah and California.

Sewing Update

I actually think I did pretty good with my sewing this week! I finished the crosstitch I was working on for Lily. Okay, okay, I still have three french knots I have to tie, but that won't take long. I now have to find a good dry cleaners and framing shop. I hope to have it hanging in Lily's room in less than a month. We'll see if that happens. I didn't have time to start on my other sewing so that is why I am posting the same picture of it. :) I am going to start another crosstitch that looks exactly like Lily's except for the name and stuff, I will show my progress on that next week. I figured what was the point of showing a blank canvas??? Oh if you couldn't figure it out, the new one will be for our new baby.

Chores for the day!

Okay, so last week I went to clean the kitchen counters and got distracted. I ended up cleaning all the lower kitchen cabinets outsides instead! OOPS! Oh and I cleaned the stove top, which is now dirty again. GRRRR!!! So my list is looking pretty much the same as usual. But today I feel good, so maybe I will get everything done. (I can wish can't I?)

  1. Clean kitchen counters.
  2. Mop kitchen floor.
  3. Finish Russ's present
  4. Start organizing scrapbook stuff. (Pictures first!)

How do you like it?

I FINALLY found a template that I like that wasn't too boring. Is it too hard to read? You guys will have to let me know. I feel a little bad about using this template, because it is VERY girly. This is supposed to be a family page, but Russ said he didn't care if it was girly. If any of you are looking for cool templates, check out my sidebar. There is a link for LeeLou Blogs. It has about 20-30 templates you can use for free and the are cute!

Chores for the day!

I made good progress on Russ's present yesterday. I only have about have of the last page to finish! Yeah! I didn't anything else yesterday becuase I got sick and spent most of the day laying down trying to make my tummy feel better! So we begin again today with the same list.

  1. Clean the counter's in the kitchen, and mop the floor.
  2. Finish Russ's present!
  3. Start organizing scrapbook stuff. (Start with the pictures!)

Wish me luck!

We've made progress!

I have probably cried over the whole potty-training Lily thing like a million times. I have been frustrated that she is taking FOREVER when everyone else seems to get their kid trained in like two weeks. This time around I have been trying to keep a positive attitude, because I figured Lily could probably feel how frustrated I was, making her frustrated as well. Well, I think it worked. Yesterday Lily made a record of staying dry for 7 hours!!! She also went pee-pee five times in those 7 hours! I was ecstatic, and so was she! So I tried to thing positive this morning about the whole situation, to see if it would happen again. I took Lily into the bathroom and left her there after while so she could finish up. Next thing I know she is running to me telling me to come look at her "stink". She had actually gone! I had not even bothered working on this with her because I figured we would try one thing at a time. But apparently she has decided it is time to start trying herself! YES! I am so pleased with her right now! Sorry if this grossed any of you out, but it is a typical part of mommy/daddy life. You get used to talking about it. :)

Also yesterday we made progress on the temper tantrums. Lily got exactly one time out! I was amazed at what a wonderful day yesterday was!

Chores Update

Yesterday, I managed to clean the living room/hall. Of course, that was eight o'clock last night, and I made Russ and Lily help me. But it got done! Today's list is short, but the one project will take MANY days to finish. It is huge! Oh, I am talking about number three by the way!
  1. Clean the kitchen counters, and get Russ to mop the floor (Belly doesn't permit me to anymore! I get to dizzy bending over for that long!)
  2. Finish Russ's present.
  3. Start organizing scrapbook stuff.

I will start all this today......I think. :)

I hate when that happens!

Russ told me last night that I could go ahead and buy some fabric to make a quilt for our new bundle of joy. I had been eyeing this quilt at Porter's since April. So, I made Russ let me take him to work so I could have the car today. Around 10:30 I managed to get over to Porter's to find the material. I get there and noticed the quilt had been moved (NOT a good sign). I went and asked the lady where the material was for that quilt. She said they were all sold out and were not getting any more of it in. GRRRRR! I hate when you want something and you hold thinking, "Oh I'll get it when we have a little more money." Then you have the money and WAHLA it's gone never to return! I still have a little bit of hope that I can get the material down in Utah when I go visit my family at the end of the month. I have seen it there, but that means three weeks less time I could have been working on it! Oh well, live with life's lumps and bumps, huh?!

Excerise hurts!

I have been complaining to Russ for a long time now that I feel like a big fluffy marshmallow. Why you ask? Because I haven't exercised since like......October. :( To exercise I primarily walk with Lily in her stroller, because it is FREE! Well, because of cold weather that is out of the question. Sometime in December I decided to go buy a pregnant exercise video, but alas, I came down with my "ligament" problem. I was told no exercise till this got better. So I became more of marshmallow. I haven't been having ligament problems for awhile so I figured I could finally start to exercise! On Saturday, Russ found to pregnant exercise videos at the library for me. so I tried one out yesterday. It went okay, I got tired faster than I thought I would, but I made it through most of it. YEAH! Well, I woke up this morning, and realized I really had been a marshmallows. My legs and bum are killing me! They are so sore! My arms aren't so bad. So I get my break today and then I get to workout again tomorrow!

Chores from yesterday and what to do today

Well, I didn't do anything yesterday. Are you seeing a trend here? Okay that is a lie. I made a dessert for me and Lily, and I took her to the library. Plus I exercised (More about that later!). Anyway, here is my list.
  1. Russ's scrapbook
  2. Clean up living room/hall
  3. Organize Scrapbook Stuff

I promise I will do better today!

Sewing Update

Every Monday I want to start showing the progress I have made with my sewing. Once again this is a motivation factor. If I know that someone might see this it will give me motivation to update it. Currently, I am working on two projects. One is a crosstitch that will be for Lily. The other project is a handstitched wall hanging. Here is what they look like now:

Chores for the day

  1. Finish Russ's valentine present
  2. Clean up living room/hall
  3. Start organizing scrapbook stuff

Just Like Mommy

Recently, Lily has wanted to act "Just Like Mommy". If I put on my glasses, she goes and puts on her sunglasses. If I start to read a book, Lily goes and starts reading a book. The worst is when we go to the store, Lily has to bring her purse just like me. The problem with this is that she loads it down with toys and all sorts of things. I HATE trying to keep track of all this stuff. I think I have finally convinced her though that it is okay to leave her purse in the car when we go inside. I can handle retrieving all the junk that spills in the car from her purse. This pic shows Lily wearing my glasses and yet again trying to be "Just Like Mom". I also wanted to show off what beatiful blue eyes Lily has. She got those from her daddy. I guess she can't be "Just Like Mom" in EVERY way!

My Belly at Six Months

I decided to finally have Russ take a picture of my belly. This pic is for all you who don't see me on a regular basis, so you can see that I am growing! It amazes me that my belly is so big, and a lot of people still don't realize that I am pregnant. Just yesterday I was talking about how I only have three more months to go. A lady who was listening looked at me and said she didn't even know that I was pregnant let alone that far along. Apparently a lot of people think I have been gaining "a little bit of weight". How embarrasing! I mean do most people gain weight that looks like a basketball attatched to their tummy? OH well, laugh it off right? I had to add the pic of Lily standing next to me because it was just too cute! She loves being in pictures AND acting just like mommy.
