She gained weight!

Allie has had me a little scared this past week. When we went in for her new baby checkup she had lost almost half a pound. It doesn't sound like much, but it is a lot for a baby. The doctor was concerned so he had me come back in two days later. Allie had then lost another 2 oz. By then I was freaking out. I mean I was feeding her why wasn't she gaining weight? So the doctor had me sit in the room and feed her. After feeding her, we weighed her and she had gained some weight. This was a good sign. It meant she was getting food from me. So yet again he had me come back. This time today. I was very nervous because I had fallen asleep feeding her last night, so she probably didn't get the most food. However, when the nurse weighed her she had gained 3 oz! Which they said was perfect! Since she gained weight we don't have to go for another weight check, thank-goodness! I am just so glad that this little ordeal is over with!

Allie Marie Jones' birth story!

Okay, sorry it took so long to get this posted, but well I have been fighting for my turn on the computer. Here is how the story goes!



Thursday afternoon Russ and I dropped Lily off at our friends house, and headed off for Rexburg. I got started on being induced around 6:00. Supposedly it was supposed to hurt, but it didn't. I got a sleeping pill, but well I didn't sleep the whole night. The stupid nurse's had to come in every 10 minutes to fix the monitor on the baby because she was dancing around so much.



Friday morning around 9:00 my doctor came in and started me on the pitocin. Finally, around 10:30 I got my epidural. I wasn't in too much pain, but I wanted to get it done and over with. The technician was a little mean. He kept telling me that he hadn't get to the painful part. I kept saying in my mind,"you mean making a pregnant lady in half so she can't breathe isn't painful?" He was a little more apologetic when I was a good patient and didn't move at all when he put the needle in.



Around 1:00 my doc came back and broke my water. She said I was progressing well, and hopefully this would speed things along. She also hoped that the baby would drop down form it. She still was WAY too high! Around 4:00 I all of sudden got sick. I couldn't stop for quite awhile. About then my doc came and checked me. I was a ten plus with a little head showing. Apparently, the baby had dropped so fast and suddenly I was getting sick from it. Well, after a little prep work by the doctor, I pushed three times and Allie Marie Jones was born at 4:27 pm.



The first thing the doctor announced to me was that she had red hair! I was thrilled! Not only did she have hair, but it was red! They weighed Allie, and let us know that she weighed in at 9 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches long! I had absolutely no complications with the delivery, other than the fact that I was sick the rest of the night because of the fast delivery. Allie did have a small complication. Her blood sugar was a little low. The had to keep taking it, and they made me feed her every two hours! Not the easiest thing to succeed at.



Allie's blood turned out fine as long as I kept feeding her regularly. Sunday around 12:00pm Russ, Allie and I came home. Lily was very excited to have us and Allie home. She has been very helpful with Allie. Even a little too helpful. But it is clear that she loves her. Who could ask for anything more? My parents are here for the week, helping me and Lily adjust to having two kids in the home. I don't know what I would do without them! Russ is going back to work tomorrow. I am going to miss having him home, but he does have to make a living for us. I hope this satisfies everyone's curiosity! Thank you all for caring! Oh, and enjoy the pictures on the post above!

Ughh! I look bad in that photo! Oh well! The point of this photo is to show what I look at 40 weeks pregnant. This is the last picture we will be taking of me! Yeah! Yesterday we went to the doctor. They tried to "help me along", but they said they didn't think it would work. The baby was just too high. Since I am sitting here right now with absolutely no sign of going into labor, it is safe to assume that it didn't work! Bummer! The good news is though, that they went ahead and scheduled me to be induced! I had to push the issue a little at first, but when they found out that my hips had been giving out on me sometimes, they decided it was time for this baby to come! So Thursday night, I will be dropping Lily off at a friends house (Thank you Jess!) and heading to the hospital. The doctors will do some prep work that night, and let me sleep. Then Friday morning they will give me medicine to induce me and they will break my water. On Friday we will finally get to meet our little Allie! I am so excited I can't wait!

I have a very nice camera. It has a ton of cool options. None of which I really know how to use. So when Lily was swimming I decided to try some of them out. They worked out really nicely. I got some really funny pictures of Lily. I particularly like this one of Lily wrapped in her towel looking very concerned. I think she was just so cold she couldn't get herself to smile!

She can't stay clean!

I don't think my daughter understands the concept of "clean". For example yesterday I took her outside to play. Within ten minutes she had manged to pore water all down her front, stick her hat and hair in a pile of dirt, lay down on her chalk drawings, and color on her face and hands. I think she is going to be a tomboy. She loves the dirt that much!

Saturday we pulled out the swimming pool. We didn't get it set up until noon. Lily wanted to get in the pool as soon as it was filled up! She regretted that decision. The water was freezing! I showed Lily how to sit on her innertube so that only her bum would get cold. She liked this much better. I spent about 30 mins spinning her around. I got in for awhile since I was a hot pregnant lady. Russ took simpathy on me and didn't take any pictures of me in my maturnity swimsuit! Of course I wouldn't have posted them even if he did!

Edumacation

No I didn't spell the title wrong. That is how my Grandpa Price would say education. No he didn't really think that is how you say it. I just like saying it like that too, just to remember him. Anyway, Lily has been really bored the past few days because of the cold weather and the snow. I decided to pull out some of my file folder games that I have. I was a little nervous about this because last time I did, Lily took some of the game pieces and stuck them in the crack of our sliding doors. It took Russ about an hour to get them out using tape and a skewer. This time around Lily did much better. Of course that could be because I was watching her like a hawk :) She loved to play the games. For about two hours she kept asking for more. This matching game seemed to be her favorite. She has now played with them for three days straight, and cries when we put them away. I am glad that I am able to give her a small bit of education even though I don't feel well enough to do much besides sit by her while she plays with them.

A funny thing that happened with these games was that she saw one of my FHE flannel board lessons. I keep them in a folder in the same place as the games. Lily kept saying to me,"I want to play Jesus game!"

I kept telling her no, but finally gave in when I was to tired to protest. She pulled out the lesson which was on the sacrament. She picked up a picture of a pitcher and would pore the water into Jesus's mouth while saying, "You thirsty!" She would repeat this with the picture of bread saying, "You hungry!" It made me laugh.

Thank You Beehives!

Tuesday morning I got a call from Marci the Beehive leader in our ward. She asked me if it was okay for the Beehives to come vacuum out my car for a service project. The whole Young Women's was vacuuming out all the cars of expectant mom's or new mom's in the ward. That way we would have a clean car for our new babies. I of course said yes even though Russ had done this about a month ago. Boy did we get a surprise when the came! Not only did the vacuum everything, but the also washed our windows, cleaned out our drink holder, and cleaned off our interior! They did an awesome job! Thanks Beehives!

What a klutz!

My daughter truly takes after her daddy. He is quite the klutz and Lily is too. Lily had been doing quite well about not getting too big of owies from her klutziness. But yesterday all that went down the drain. While at a WIC appointment she was jumping around entertaining herself. Her foot caught on the edge of something and she went head first sliding across the carpet and into a plastic chair. She got a TON of carpet burn all over her face. She complained particularly about the big patch on her forehead and her nose. She also got allergy bumps from something one their floor. I should have taken the picture yesterday, because she looked ten times worse, but I didn't. So here is what my klutzy daughter looks like today!

NOTHING!!!

I had a doctors appointment today. I was fully expecting them to say that they wanted to check me into the hospital to induce me. I thought that I had "progressed" this week with all the pains I had. But they checked and NOTHING! I am in the same place I was last week. I wasn't very pleased with this, as you can tell. My doctor also told me that because me and the baby are doing so well, that she won't even consider inducing me till I have hit my due date. GRRRR!!! I don't know why I am so impatient to get this baby here, but I am. I was never like this with Lily. The doctor did give me a small hope though. They are going to do something at my next appointment that they did with Lily that actually put me into labor. Hopefully that will work! Sorry this sounds so weird, but I didn't want to be too descriptive :)

Nailpolish?

I hardly ever where finger nail polish. It just comes off after a day, and I don't have the patience to redo it. Somewhere though, Lily has picked up that nail polish is cool. She was watching Russ play a game on the computer, when she picked up a highlighter and "polished" her nails. Who knew she was such a girly-girl?

Little Ballerina

The other night we went to a BBQ with some friends. Audrey told me that she had been making some ballerina wands and tutu's. She said she had an extra one, and wanted to know if Lily would like it. I agreed that she would. We took it home and Lily instantly fell in love with her new toys. The first day I couldn't get her to take off the tutu. She now where's it atleast once a day. We've even got her to start practicing her ballerina moves. It is so fun to see Lily doing so me girly things!

Just a few things!

I have been meaning to post all week. It seems though that every time I sit down I am too tired to type, or the chair is too uncomfortable for me to sit that long. I've been feeling a little better today, so hopefully I can sit long enough to get this written. And as a disclaimer, I am sorry that it is sooooo long and blocky, but I don't have the patience to make separate posts right now!

I didn't get to go to my doctor's appointment this week. They called and canceled because Helene was delivering another baby. I was disappointed because I was hoping that they might check me in to the hospital after my appointment. No such luck when things get cancelled. So on Monday I get to go in. Maybe I'll have better luck that day!

Last Saturday we finally were able to squirt off our back patio. It had so much dirt on it from the winter. Since our hose finally got fixed and Russ was home to move all the furniture we decided to get it done. Apparently, I wasn't paying enough attention to what Lily was doing while I was using the hose, because I looked over once and she had layed face down in a big puddle of water and dirt. Great!!! I decided since she was already wet she could just keep playing. I eventually changed her into her swimsuit and let her run through the sprinkler. This was a new experience for her. She had always just played in her swimming pool. She didn't play long since it was only like 60 maybe 70 degrees outside. But she said she had fun. Here is a picture of her running through it. She really did enjoy it even though her face says she isn't enjoying it.

Another first for Lily is that she is doing well with potty training. We started a reward chart (Thanks for suggesting it Leslie!). She still gets a little confused as to why she has to wait till the chart is full in order to get a reward, but she is doing better. She also has manged to go three separate days without having accidents! WAHOO!!! Also, and this is the major improvement she has made....she will go to the bathroom at a store. She has been scared to death of store toilets for awhile now, but this past week I have gotten her to go twice! She still won't tell me she has to go, but at least she will go when I ask her to. Nothing else is really going on with us, other than we are playing the waiting game. I think we have almost everything ready for the baby. We still need to clean the house a little bit, but everything else seems to be in order. Hopefully, she will come early.....I am tired of waiting!
