Attachments

Allie has always been attached to something or other.  At first, it was a yellow fluffy ducky.  She still loves him, but I take him away periodically so she isn't TOO attached to him.  After Ducky came Bunny Foo Foo.  She got Bunny Foo Foo for Easter.  She didn't get attatched to him right away.  Maybe 3 months ago or so, I gave her BFF (HA! Bunny Foo Foo's abbreviated name is BFF!!!) so that her and Ducky could have some "alone" time.  She latched on to BFF even more than she did Ducky!  Eeeks!  For some reason I haven't had the heart to take away BFF from her.  When he is lost I sure think about it though as she shrieks in protest that she CAN'T go to sleep without BFF.

About a week ago, Allie started to squirm and squawk at nap time.  I knew she wanted something, but I couldn't figure out what.  Finally I put her in her crib to "tough it out."  Instead of crying she wrapped her arms around her comforter, rolled over, and promptly went to sleep.  I saw where this whole thing was going, and steered off a major attachment at her next nap.  I gave her a MUCH smaller blanket to cuddle with.  It was the pink butterfly one that Grandma Suzi had made her.  So she went to bed with BFF in one arm and blankie in the other arm.

Then today, I decided that it was time for her to start playing with Molly Monkey.  Molly Monkey is a Build-a-Bear monkey that Uncle Alan had given Allie soon after she was born.  MM went up on a shelf until Allie could "appreciate" her.  That time was now!  Allie happily played with MM all day.  At nap time we got BFF and blankie, and I sent Russ to put Allie to sleep.  I heard quite a bit of squawking coming from Allie, then immediate silence.  I few seconds later Russ called to me and said, "Bring the camera"  I walked in and found this....

Lets take a closer look at the situation....

You've got to be kidding me!  Allie now insists that she has to take ALL THREE LOVIES to bed with her.  Can you tell who rules the roost in this house?
