Post Results and a Name

These polls are always so fun for me!  I love having something fun like this to show my little one later on in life.  In truth the polls probably don't weigh a ton on what we are going to name our little one.  However, I  certainly love to hear what people's opinions are concerning the names we are thinking.  So the results of the nameing poll was as follows:

Evellyn: 30%
Madison 60%
Breeann: 10%

Now the big question is...have we picked a name?  Nope!  Did you really think we would have?!  Russ has picked what he wants the name to be.  I'm not sure about it though.  So, it will probably be a pick-at-the-hospital name again.  We'll see...

Poll Time

Baby Girl #4 is due in about six weeks.  EEKS!  Russ and I are in the same huge dilemma as always, we cannot figure out a name for her.  We ran out of girl names back with Lily.  So we've come up with three that we  "think" we like.  Go ahead and weigh in on what one you like.  The poll is on the sidebar of my blog, so if you are reading this using a feed you will have to pop over here to vote!  And if you have any legitimate other suggestions for us, post them in the comments.  We would love to hear them!  The poll stays open until Aug. 28, then Russ and I will be forced to pick something.  LOL!

Our bun in the oven is....

I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I decided to change doctors this pregnancy.  I totally blame the switch on being absolutely spoiled in Idaho by amazing doctors and midwives.  The doctor who delivered Charlotte was a good enough doctor, but man did that lady have mood swings!  At first I just thought it was me being emotional since I was pregnant, but then Russ came to two separate appointments with me and commented that he could see the difference too.  I am a firm believer in that the doctor should serve you and listen too you and believe you when feel like something is going on.  Whenever my Charlotte doctor was in her grumpy state, I wasn't 100% sure when it came to delivery time she would listen to me.  Turns out she was in a good mood that day and things went well.

I really didn't like that uneasy feeling I got about her moods, so when a friend told me about her doctor who happened to be part of the same practice I decided to switch.  Doctor T is great!  She has a very sweet personality and so far I have not ran into any problems with her.  As an added bonus, she comes down to my local office every week, which makes scheduling appointments soooo much easier.  Also, she is a bit more relaxed about where I get tests done.   She was completely okay when I asked if I could do my ultrasound locally instead of traveling the hour to the big city for it.

Earlier today Russ and I dropped Char and Allie off at our friends house and drove the five minutes over to the Imaging Center.  We filled out the paper work and then we waited.  I asked the receptionist for the third time if I was supposed to have drank a bunch of water.  She again assured me that no, that is only if I was coming in for my 6 week ultrasound.  Hallelujah!  After a short wait Russ and I were both called back to the ultrasound room.  No waiting around for him!

Our tech was a really nice lady who happened to be pregnant herself.  The ultrasound started out pretty normal with her showing us the baby's face.  Turns out though the baby decided we were invading her personal space and decided from that moment on to not hold still.  Russ, the tech, and I got a pretty good laugh as we watched the baby hit and kick at the ultrasound thingy.  The baby kept rolling away from it too!  The tech kept apologizing for pressing so hard on my stomach, which made me laugh because she was barely pushing at all.  After a lot of missed tries due to angry baby, the tech was able to get all the measurements she needed.  She tried multiple times to determine the sex of the baby.  In the beginning she got one shot that she thought she knew what it was but she kept checking back for a better shot.  In the end she came to the conclusion that we are having a.....

GIRL!!!

Surprise, surprise huh?!  The tech was fairly sure, but I'm secretly hoping for another ultrasound so they can make sure.  I get nervous when things are clear as a bell, and this one was a bit blurry. LOL!

And of course what would an ultrasound post be without showing off our little alien?  Here SHE is...

So Russ and I are back to square one with girls names.  We ran out a long time ago!  Any suggestions are welcome as long as they are "normal" names!

Week 39

I didn't want to go to the doctors today.  I was stressed that nothing good would come out of it.  Russ kept telling me all week that I had to assertive and ask for induction date.  Hmph, I'm not an assertive person!  But it turns out that I didn't have to be.  The doctor looked at my chart and saw my due date was on Monday.  She asked, "How about having this baby on Tuesday?"  I quickly agreed and even laughed inwardly that this baby will most likely be born on 1.11.11!  Fun birthday huh?!

Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that my scheduled induction doesn't get bumped by some other woman going into labor!  With the date set I feel like I've been able to take a big breath and  calm down a bit.  For some reason I've really been a wound up like a spring with this pregnancy but I feel now like I've relaxed and can get things done.  Maybe I'm finally allowing myself to "nest" which is always a great outlet of stress for me.  All I know is that my list of things I want to do this weekend is a mile long and feel like I can get it done! Yipee!

38 Weeks

Drove through a HUGE rainstorm to get to this appointment.

No induction schedule.

Enough said....

The results....

Thanks to everyone who played the name game!  I had fun watching the poll!  I wasn't too surprised by the way the voting turned out .  Since I don't know how to embed the poll in here I'm just gonna list what the results were.

Bailey  -- 6 votes {40%}
Evellyn  -- 5 votes {33%}
Paislee  -- 1 vote {6%}
Maisey -- 1 vote {6%}
Charlotte -- 2 votes {13%}

So what is our decision on the name game?!  Still undecided!  Actually we have narrowed it down to two names Charlotte and Evellyn.  It was narrowed down before I even posted this poll, LOL.  They other three names were ones I've liked but Russ has flat out vetoed.  I was hoping for some sympathy votes and totally got them!  We are currently stuck waiting for me to choose between our two names.  Russ would be happy with either but is favoring Charlotte.  I swing back and forth depending on the day.  I really hope this baby has a name before we get to the hospital!

37 weeks

Going in to the ultrasound today was a bit nerve wracking.  I’ve had some seriously weird dreams about the whole thing.  I even fell asleep while waiting for the results and a had dream which in turn induced a anxiety attack.  In the end things didn’t turn out too bad, just not quite what we were hoping for.
Since I’m in too much pain to drive myself the hour to Houston Russ decided to drive me.  The girls had to tag along as well because all our normal babysitters are out of town for the holidays.  Russ dropped me off at the hospital while he and the girls continued on to a nearby park.
The ultrasound tech was very kind and informative.  This was nice because our first tech wasn’t like that.  She spent a lot of time showing and telling me the measurements she was taking.  I was able to see the baby’s head, stomach, heart, and legs.  The tech let me know that she is had down and sitting on my left side.  Something about my left side must be comfortable because ALL three girls have settled on that side towards the end of my pregnancies. Baby refused to roll over so that the tech could look at her face.  I was a bit disappointed because I had promised Lily and Allie to bring them a picture of baby. The tech showed me on baby girl’s head that she has hair.  She didn’t say if it was long or not but it appeared to be all over.  Very exciting news!  The tech did have a hard time getting some of the pictures she needed because baby was moving a ton!  The tech would get one picture taken and then baby would move totally out of focus.  This was funny until the tech had to start pushing harder on my stomach to get some of the pictures.  I was almost in tears at some points because it hurt so bad.
After all the pictures were done the tech had me sit for about 20 mins while we waited to make sure she had taken enough.  This was when I had my dream and anxiety attack.  She did get enough pictures so I headed over to the doctors.  They squeezed me in right before their lunch which was nice so I wouldn’t have to wait 2 HOURS before their lunch was over.
The doctor gave me the results that baby girl is weighing in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. right now.  Which means she is in the 90th percentile and potentially should reach somewhere into the 9 lb. range if I go full term.  She also checked me and I was dilated to a 1.  I didn’t dilate this early with Allie and Lily so I was feeling pretty hopeful at this point.  But the doctor only said that an induction was a could possibility and that she would see where I was next week.  I was a bit discouraged that she didn’t set a date, but I guess I just have to deal with it.
A few things I want to remember so I don’t have to ask Russ a millions times if it was this bad….
  • Severe left hip pain
  • Hip pain from separation
  • No swelling except when legs are dangling or I’m standing.
  • Anxiety attacks more often
  • Difficulty standing or walking after sitting for any period of time.  Hips won’t support me.
I made Russ take some pictures of my belly and boy does it show I’ve got a big baby in there.  All I can do is laugh at it so I don’t cry, right?!

A fun little game...

 With Allie I did a fun little game.  I had everyone guess when she would be born and what her weight would be.  The winners of each received a prize from me.  I thought it would be fun to do this again with Baby Girl #3.  Go ahead and leave a comment here on my blog or e-mail me if you want and add you to the list on the side bar.  If you really want you can get your kids and hubby's in on the guessing game, LOL!

A few facts about my three girls that might help you with a more "educated" guess...

Lily was due July 23 and was born on July 28.  She weighed 9.3 lbs.

Allie was due on June 19th.  I was induced with her and she was born June 20th.  She weighed 9.7 lbs.

Baby Girl #3 has been measuring "big" just like her sisters did.  My due date is Jan. 10th for her.  However, my doctors a bit concerned about her size so the possibility of induction or c-section could be in my future.

Since I will be finding out the fate of my labor on Dec. 22 I'm going to only take guesses up until that time for dates.  But weights can be guessed up until I have the baby, LOL!  I can't wait to see what you all guess and no I won't take offense if you guess a 10 lb baby.  I may get a little offended with the guess of an 11 lb baby.  Oh and if you notice on the side bar I'm being hopeful that they will induce me early :)

The Name Game....

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I like to have things planned and organized WAY in advance.  So imagine the anxiety I've been going through with the fact that Russ and I can't come up with a good name for Baby Girl #3.  I stay up at night for hours going through names in my head and none of them seem right.  At one point we thought we had found the right name and Russ started teaching the girls to say the name.  After a month of this I vetoed it, and now Allie refuses to call the baby anything but that name or Baby.  ACK!!!!

With much trepidation we have narrowed a few choices that I "might" be okay with.  Would you all like to weigh in on what we should name Baby Girl #3?!  Take notice that June WILL be her middle name, it is our way of naming her after my mom.  June is my mom's middle name. Here is the list, and you can find the poll over on the right hand side of my blog.  I'll leave the poll up for two weeks or so.

Say it ain't so!

I was expecting a very routine appointment today at the baby doctors.  Turns out that wasn't in the cards.  First off was an apology from the doctor saying that she had given the wrong info to the nurse who called with my glucose results.  I did in fact fail the glucose test unlike I was told.  BOO!  Because of that I now get to go in for the 3 hour glucose test.  With that I lost all positivity over the situation.  I've come to accept the inevitable that I'm going to have the gestational diabetes and another big baby with the possibility of a c-section.

The second disappointment was to find out that I'm measuring a 33 when I should only be measuring a 29.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.  I've worked really hard this pregnancy on watching what I eat.  In fact I've only gained between 10 - 15 lbs.  VERY good for me.  Apparently though none of this is helping the baby.  She is still going to be big.

Lastly the doctor said there isn't much she can do about the problem I am having with the iron pills.  I'm in pain from them most days to the point that I can't do anything but lay down.  She can't take me off of the pills because I need the iron and the dose I am taking is the lowest dose offered.  Gah!!!

In the end though I was a bit cheered up when we got out to the car and Allie smiled at me and said, "Baby go boom-boom!"  She apparently had enjoyed hearing baby sis's heartbeat.  I know I've said this a lot lately, but it is true so I'm going to say it again!  I'm so grateful to Heavenly Father to give me this simple little tender mercies when I need them most.  I'm positive he inspired Allie to say what she did when she did because he knew I needed to hear it or else I would completely lose it!  Heavenly Father truly cares about each of us!

The beginning of the nursery...

 Russ pampers me.  Seriously he does.  I get these crazy hair brained ideas, get them halfway done, and then he finishes them for me.  The latest one...to redo the room we have set aside for the nursery.  It is brown just like the rest of the house.  I love my brown color, but it doesn't exactly speak nursery to me.  So I got all worked up a plan in my head about Russ painting jungle scenes on the wall to match the crib bedding.  He is very artistic you know.  Then I kicked myself in the head and got realistic that it wasn't going to happen.  So I settled on painting the room.  I was bound and determined to help him, and declare it fun because it was my first painting experience.  I bailed on him before we even got the room taped.  It wore me out reaching and bending in such awkward ways.  Russ being my lovely finisher of projects started doing this today between conference sessions.....

To be continued....

22 weeks

I hit 22 weeks today!  How exciting!  I love when you reach a point in pregnancy that you are able to see that you are getting close enough to the due date that you can start counting down.  I'm counting down months right now!  Four more to go!

Wednesday I drove up to Houston to get my ultrasound done.  I had been contemplating taking Allie with me but around Saturday I decided to leave her with a friend.  I'm glad I did.   The ultrasound itself turned out to be over an hour long!  BGJ #3 just didn't want to roll over so the tech could measure her stomach and heart.  Two of the most important measurements according to the tech.  During the ultrasound I had to do a lot of rolling over to see if I could get the baby to move.  Oh and lets not forget that the tech was really digging into my stomach to see if she could push the baby over.  {I came home feeling sore and bruised from it all}

The tech was wonderful through the whole procedure.  She was very talkative and pointed out every little thing she saw.  She laughed as the baby fought back against the ultrasound wand.  We watched as she kept punching at it and kicking.  I wasn't feeling a whole lot of the movement but it was fun to watch.  Baby also kept moving her mouth during the whole thing and the tech joked that she was yelling at us to leave her alone! LOL!  Towards the end baby FINALLY turned just enough that we got the measurements.  I was excited when the tech handed me a ton of photos and said that I wouldn't have to come back for anymore ultrasounds.  Which in turn means that she got a complete ultrasound this time {no thanks to baby!} and that my placenta had migrated enough that it is not a concern anymore!  WAHOO!

The doctors visit was very routine.  We discussed that I had gained some weight {5 lbs} which was okay since I hadn't gained any weight previous to this.  It was also a relief to here that my blood pressure was a little bit below normal, which is where it normally resides.  I really think that my blood pressure was going high because I was having so many migraines.  The migraines of course were due to the fact that the nurse practitioner had me go off Clariton.  Lastly we discussed that I would have to take the Gestational Diabetes test next time.  YUCK!  I'm crossing my fingers that since my blood panel two months ago came back normal, that my blood work this time will come back normal.  Oh!  I almost forget the doctor told me that the weight of BGJ #3 right now was measuring at 14 oz, or the 45%.  Still below average and quite a bit below the other two girls!  I hope I'm not just pumping myself up to later be disappointed with a 10 lb baby.  The only problem at the visit was that the doc did seem a bit concerned that the size of my uterus had jumped quite a bit in just a month.  She measured me and hmmm over it.  Even without her telling me what I was measuring I could tell that I had grown about two inches.  That isn't normal :(

After my next visit I will be going in every two weeks.  For some reason this feels REALLY early to me.  I don't remember going in that often this early before.  The only thing I can think of is that they've classified me as a high risk patient because of Lily and Allie's weight coupled with the gestational diabetes.

Well, how's about some pictures?

First off, here's me at 22 weeks.  I jumped a lot in size this month! I'm not so small anymore :) And why can't I have the cute round pregnant belly that everyone else has?  Why most I have the lumpy bumpy one?

And here is BGJ's arm.

Her feet
Her profile

And her working on being an alien! LOL!  I think this was when she was mad about being poked so much! Hehehe!
And just for fun I created this scrapbook page the other day.  What do you think?

Baby Kicks

I need to record this before I forget.  Back when I was around 16 weeks I felt the baby move and move very strongly.  I told Russ who put his hand on my stomach to feel.  Sure enough the baby moved and he felt it!  This is such a novelty for both of us since with Lily and Allie we were not able to feel them move until MUCH later on in my pregnancy.  With this baby I feel daily kicks, and they are STRONG kicks.  Not just mild movements.  In fact a lot of the time it hurts because the baby will get excited and go through a kicking storm.  Just yesterday I told the baby to calm down because it was hurting me again, and it gave to more quick kids then nor more for awhile.  It appears this baby is learning to listen to mommy at an early age!

To be determined...

I used to be so good at blogging every day.  Not sure what happened, but it appears I'm lucky if I blog once a week let alone once a day.  That being said, thank you to all who have patiently waited for this "report"

We got a babysitter for Lily and Allie and excitedly drove the hour to the TWH.  They technicians got me in right away.   Russ had to be separated from me for a bit while they checked my cervix.  He was a little impatient about that.  Once he was allowed in the tech began checking me out and then the baby.

While searching for my placenta she stopped on the baby's face for a minute.  Russ and I both laughed as we saw the baby chomping away at something.  We couldn't tell if the baby was sucking its thumb but it definitely was moving its mouth.

After awhile the tech started showing us the heart, the spine, the leg bone, etc.  I kept watching that silly baby moving around.  I found it funny that the baby looked like a boxer.  Both hands were curled up by its face like it was getting ready to punch someone.  As the tech pushed really hard on me to get a picture of something the baby totally jumped.  On the screen it went from high to low to high again.  That even got the tech to crack a smile.

The tech finished taking measurements and told us that she needed to type up the report but to stay there.  After about five minutes she came back, handed me an envelope, and told us that we were all done and to give the envelope to the doctor.  Russ managed to sputter out, "well, aren't you going to check the gender"  The lady proceeded to tell us that she wouldn't be able to see anything because the baby was smaller than normal and I was early for a gender ultrasound anyways.  Russ prodded her to atleast check.  She sighed and said told us that unless the baby gave a "super clear" shot she wasn't going to say either way.  We agreed that was fine.

So after a few tense moments baby showed its stuff.  I turned to the tech and said, "That's a girl right?!"  She agreed and said she was fairly sure it was a girl but we should get it double checked and my next ultrasound.  So we have been telling family that it IS a girl because come on, if I could tell then it must have been a pretty clear shot.  Next month I do go in for another ultrasound which we'll double check the gender.

We did get to unfortunate bits of news from the ultrasound.  First because the baby is measuring small {16 weeks} the tech was unable to capture all the measurements she needed.  She couldn't even see the chambers of the heart because baby was so small.  The other news was that my placenta was close to my cervix.  We are hoping at the next ultrasound it will have migrated upwards so that I don't have to continue to have ultrasounds or ultimately have a c-section.  Wouldn't it be ironic to have a smaller baby but have it by c-section?!  I'm not stressed about either of these bits of news I'm just slightly annoyed that I have to make ANOTHER trip to TWC.  This will be my fourtth trip in four months.  I was only supposed to make four trips in my whole nine months.  Well, to stop dwelling on the bad I have two pics to show off sweet Baby Girls Jones  #3!

First up is BGJ's backbone

And then a lengthwise pic of BGJ where her head looks alienish!

And lastly I know I've said that I'm smaller this pregnancy and I was proved right when BGJ was measuring smaller but this belly shot really makes me look H.U.G.E...but I'm not I swear.  I got these fabulous pregnancy jeans on clearance for $6.  The only problem is that they don't fit me....yet.  If I jump around too much they actually fall off. LOL!  Since they are so big they poke out all over making me look much bigger than I am, including my belly.  Yeah, so don't think I'm a liar or anything....

Runt

This pregnancy has been a bit unusual for me.  I don't really look pregnant, I've just barely started wearing maternity clothes, and I haven't gained a single pound with this pregnancy.  Russ and I have come to the conclusion that I am much smaller this pregnancy than with Lily and Allie.  So we've nicknamed the baby Runt.  We've determined he might be the runt of the family.  Which I'm okay with if it means I don't have to have another 9lb baby! LOL!  This nickname led us to start calling Runt a "HE" as well, because wouldn't it be funny if we finally have a boy and he is smaller than his to older sisters.  Okay, well me and Russ found it funny.....{crickets chirping}.

Next week is the much anticipated date of the ultrasound.  It feels so early since down in here in good ol' Texas they have you come in at 18 weeks instead of 20. In light of this I thought it will be fun to see what ya'll think we are having.  Are we going to be blessed with a boy or girl?  Cast your vote on the sidebar of my blog!

Here and there...

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth, lol!  I know I've been scarce but there are a few good reason for that.  First off we just haven't been doing much lately.  It is getting too hot here in Texas to go outside during the day, even to swim.  But then there has also been this reason for not doing too much....

We are really excited about this little surprise we've been keeping quiet for awhile.  I've been pretty sick with this one, so I spend most of my days on the couch trying to referee Lily and Allie's fighting in between my catnaps.  I feel blessed and I'm sure Russ does too that we will be able to bring another baby into our family soon!  Hopefully since I'm starting to feel a bit better, I'll be able to keep more up to date about our growing family!
