Lily: I picked these for you momma. Can we put them in a special cup for you?
Me: Thanks babe. Lets put them in a regular cup and daddy will get the vase {ie special cup} down when you get home.
Lily got me the cup and we put them in there with a bit of water. As I looked at this sweet offering from Lily I was reminded of the primary song that I sing to both her and Allie quite often....
I Often Go Walking
I often go walking in meadows of clover,
And I gather armfuls of blossoms of blue.
I gather the blossoms the whole meadow over;
Dear mother, all flowers remind me of you.
And I gather armfuls of blossoms of blue.
I gather the blossoms the whole meadow over;
Dear mother, all flowers remind me of you.
O mother, I give you my love with each flower
To give forth sweet fragrance a whole lifetime through;
For if I love blossoms and meadows and walking,
I learn how to love them, dear mother, from you.
Receiving these small gifts as a mother are always the best gifts to receive.
