Early church and chicken bacon pizza

***Many people may not know but back when I was in middle school I had a very strong desire to be an author.  I wrote pages and pages of stories, many of which I still have.  As I grew up I became a bit realistic of that notion and turned to teaching as my chosen profession.  I still love to write though and because a of that many of my posts are long.  Sorry if they are boring to you because of the length!***

Back in December we were given the awesome news that we would be going from 12:30 church to 9:00 church. Oh what a sweet blessing. Saturday night I was so proud of myself when I remembered to get chicken out of the freezer to defrost.  It has been a huge problem of late that I keep forgetting to get It out and we end up with nothing for dinner. I gave Russ instructions to get out the chicken when he headed to PEC at 6:30. I got up at later to find that Russ had forgotten the chicken. Who can blame him at that time of the morning?! I quickly changed our dinner plans to Chicken Bacon Pizza (more on that in a bit!)

Miraculously I was able to get the girls fed and mostly dressed by the time Russ got home from his meetings. We wrapped up a few loose ends and made it to church 15 minutes early! Yay for us! The girls were pretty good during church once we separated Allie and Lily.  Those two are soooo loud when the sit next to each other.

After sacrament the girls got to find out about their new Primary classes.  Lily was excited to be in Senior primary now.  She is in the Valiant 8/9 class with Sis. and Bro. Rogers as her teachers.  They are great teachers unfortunately they probably won't be teaching much longer since Sis. Rogers just got called to the stake primary presidency.  Things like that are always are happening in our ward.  Allie is in the CTR 5 class now.  She was thrilled that Sis. Tuck moved up with her class and will still be teaching her. Sadly, Charlotte missed the Sunbeam cut off by 11 days. She gets to stay in nursery for another year while most of her friends go on to Sunbeams.  Breanne will join her in nursery in about two and half months.

The rest of church went quite well even if I managed to break the copier in the library!  :D After church we had a quick lunch, put Breanne and Charlotte down for a nap and Russ rushed off to home teach. I laid down for nap while the older girls were watching a movie and playing Legos. About five minutes into me having laid down I hear over the monitor that Charlotte has begun to sing church songs to herself. I smiled and tried to go back to sleep. But Charlotte's singing got louder and louder until she woke up Breanne.  Russ came home much later to find me in a not so pleasant mood.

I began dinner shortly after that. Chicken bacon pizza is a wonderful concoction of two pizzas from my past smoothed together.  The pizza is heavenly but oh so bad for you! Even so I humor Russ and the girls and make it at least once a month if not more.  I was excited to make dinner because I would get to use my Bosch that Russ had gotten me for Christmas. Turns out my pizza dough recipe is too small for my Bosch. While trying to get it to knead my dough I forgot about my chicken cooking and burned it slightly. At this point in the day I stepped away from the kitchen and put myself in time out.  I played Candy Crush and felt much calmer. I salvaged our poor pizza with Russ's help and we ended up having a yummy dinner.  In case you want to give this pizza a try here is the recipe:

The rest of tonight went smoothly. I'm being an old person and going to bed early (9:00!)
